»Vaja i-Volution
"Possibly the best PSP case at this time."
 |
There are tons of
leather cases for the PSP, but there’s always a few that manage to
shine above the rest, and the two that I’ve really liked come at a high
cost. At $180, the Vaja case is definitely the most expensive option,
but it could possibly the best option for the PSP.
The Vaja i-Volution case comes packaged with style. The black box
definitely portrays the high quality nature of this product and makes
you feel that Vaja knows this product is killer, even if you haven’t
tried it yet. My first impression of the actual case though, was a
little less than excited. Once I strapped my PSP in though, I realized
this case is great.

No other case that I’ve tried offers the same stability and snug fit
that the i-Volution offers. The PSP is secured by a snug fitting base,
and two strips of leather on the top, attached to the back by two
little button fasteners. Then like most PSP cases, the front of the
case flips back and hangs by your hands to expose the PSP. Unlike most
cases I’ve tried, the i-Volution’s hanging part, doesn’t really bother
me. It doesn’t lean against your hands, but lies away from them, which
was a big plus to me.
The best thing about this case is the quality of the leather. Although,
this probably gives the i-Volution its high price, it’s still very high
quality leather. It feels comfortable in the hands, it grips well, and
smells nice. My case came in all blue leather, but you can order a two
tone as well. Cases come in almost any color you could ever want, which
is definitely a change from the typical black leather cases. The inside
of where the PSP is housed is made of a dark grey fabric with black
Vaja logos, and looks pretty high class.
The design of the case allows you to flip the top underneath and use it
as a stand for movies. I’m not one to really watch movies on a flat
surface, but for those of you who do want that, you’re in luck.

Another thing this case excels with is the protection. The top of the
case is a little oversized so that it protects the sides of the PSP.
Wrapped inside the leather is probably a sort of hard plastic or
something close, and this leather case can probably take a beating
better than any other that I’ve toyed with.
Probably the one thing you’re worried about is the price. Sure, if you
don’t want to spend that much, go for a plastic Logitech case or the
Aluminum from Proporta or Brando. But, for those of you with the money,
you’re not going to get disappointed by this case. It’s a rather
expensive case, and I think if another case with not-so high grade
leather was made, this case would be the one to have. It has a great
design, looks great, and protects the PSP well.
The only thing this case is missing is a spot for another UMD, but you
can fit 3 memory sticks. With some other options for UMD Cases, those
would probably be better anyways because someone who buys this case
will probably have cash for a lot of games. If price isn't an issue,
this is probably one of the best PSP cases out there.
