»Arkon Multi-Angle Windshield Mount
"This Arkon mount is near perfect."
 |
The Arkon mounts that I reviewed before have
undergone an extreme makeover, and are finally made just for the PSP.
TVs are becoming increasingly popular in cars, but if you have a PSP,
why do you need one? With the Arkon mounts, you can sturdily mount your
PSP to nearly any solid, flat surface.
The first thing
noticeably different from the previous Arkon mounts is the obvious PSP
fitted front piece. The PSP easily snaps into the mount. The bottom
rests are covered in the same rubbery foam that the older mounts had.
They move down slightly, and are spring loaded which allows you to push
the PSP down onto them, and locking the PSP in place under the rest on
the top when they come back up. The fit is a thousand times better than
the previous models that I tried, and I don’t feel worried at all about
the PSP falling.
The suction cup at the end also got a slight
adjustment. It’s slightly wider and seems much stronger. This’ll keep
your mount stuck onto your flat surface for a near infinite amount of
time until you release the lever.
The Deluxe Multi-Angle
Windshield Mount bends in 3 places, and twists in 1. This pretty much
makes it possible to mount it almost anywhere you want in the car and
be able to adjust it to see.
You either have to put the mount
on glass, smooth plastic, or use the included black disc that has a
strong 3M adhesive on the back. The little black disc can go on any
flat multi-surface, such as a console or dash.
The bottom part
of the mount blocks the bottom speaker holes and muffles the sound a
bit. If that’s a problem for you and you need your speakers at the
time, you can just flip the PSP over. However, flipping the PSP over
will put the top support clip which holds the PSP over the bottom edge
of some of the bottom buttons, but they’re still useable.
One
thing I should warn you about is due to the cold, the mount probably
can’t stay on as long as it can during the summer. It’ll stay attached
to a window for hours, but I left my mount on my window in less than 10°F weather
and found it lying on my floor the next morning. However, it remained
sturdy for the whole day when I was using it. So, just make sure to
take it off your window when you’re not using it in cold weather.
 Coupled
with Arkon’s Sound Feeder, the Multi-Angle mount works perfectly in any
car. I have mine attached to my dashboard using the little black disc
that is included. The sound feeder can be conveniently placed behind
the PSP, resting on the back piece. Want to buy one? Click here.
