»Proporta Leather PSP Case

I’ve already reviewed
the Proporta screen cover for PSP, but now we’ve got that… times two.
This case is almost the same as the screen cover, except it has a back
and a strap to hold it in place. This case doesn’t really have the
problems that the other one does, but this case could have easily been
better.
The PSP in the case looks pretty nice and snug, but I definitely have
some problems with the case. When you lay the case flat… the strap is
far too big. It doesn’t lay flat at all and just looks… odd. The spot
for the game on the front flap looks pretty cool, but it’s not
practical at all for protection.

The way the PSP is attached to the case bothers me as well. You screw
it into the top of the PSP and to get the game out of the PSP, you have
to fold the back flap back pretty far and it puts a lot of pressure on
the screws of the PSP. It’s pretty much a pain in the ass to get games
out of it. The case also has spots for two memory cards like the
Porporta one does, except this one has them on the bottom flap behind
the disk drive of the PSP.
Compared to the screen cover that Proporta made, this one makes a lot
more sense. It covers the front and back and snaps together so you
don’t have to worry about it coming out of place. Another great thing
about the case is that the front flap doesn’t fall back and hit your
hand, which was annoying with the screen cover. This case is pretty
flat though and doesn’t really mold to the PSP at all, which makes it
pretty uncomfortable anyways.

The case is leather with a soft interior of a material I’ve never seen
before trying the proporta cases and it seems to be rather nice to my
PSP and doesn’t leave any residue or scratches. However, the protection
from falling or anything else is pretty awful. I’m not sure how
convinced I am that leather with cardboard inserts would protect my PSP
very well. It’s not really fair that I don’t trust this one when I’d
trust the Noreve case, but the Noreve case had two layers of leather
protecting it.
For $35, you could probably find a better deal on a case, but the case
isn’t extremely bad. It looks pretty good and as long as you’re not
going to be pulling the game out or throwing the case down the stairs,
you should be alright with this one. It’ll protect your screen, which
is the most important thing, but at $35, you might want to look at some
other cases first.
