»Proporta PSP Screen Protector

It seems like screen
protectors are hot items for the PSP. We all know the PSP needs some
sort of protection, but what brand to get is really the dilemma.
Proporta and a bunch of other palm accessory makers are making screen
covers for the PSP, but how is Proporta’s? That’s what we’re here for.
The PSP has a nice big LCD for everyone to love and with that love, it
needs protection. The Proporta screen protector definitely protects the
screen from scratches, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

My biggest complaint about the proporta screen protector is that is
gives the screen a washed-out grainy feeling. If you hold it up to the
light, you can see the grains and I can’t really find an explanation as
to why I’d want this. It protects the screen, but I’m losing a lot of
vibrancy from the precious LCD!
If you’re a perfectionist, you’re going to have a hard time with these
screen protectors. You have to line it up with the corners and I’d say
they give you space for about a millimeter of error. It’s a pretty hard
task and getting it at the right angle is hard. You might start out
straight, but it can be off at the end sometimes. This seems to be a
problem with most screen protectors like this.
Like the JavoEdge screen protectors, the Proporta ones can be washed
and reused. This makes things easy along the line when you get dirt on
it or any other foreign (Che) substance. The washing helps a little,
but nothing can really ever get rid of the bubbles around the edges of
the screen. Every time you life up the screen protector again, the
bubbles seem to get worse.
According to the Proporta website, the screen protector is good for
stylus use, but I wouldn’t recommend it (even though it’s perfectly
safe now, it’s still dumb). This screen protector seems more made for a
PDA with less of a color palate, but it does help the glare and
diffuses it nicely. If you’re looking for a more clear alternative, go
for the JavoEdge one. If you don’t like the JavoEdge anti-glare because
it extends around the buttons on the PSP, go for this one. This one is
about the same as the JavoEdge Anti-Glare, just a different shape.
