Super Dodgeball Brawlers for the DS.
I'm not entirely sure if this is good news or just more shovelware for the DS, but here's a quote from an email I recieved this morning. Aksys Games,
a publisher of interactive entertainment software, is pleased to announce Super
Dodgeball Brawlers for Nintendo DS™ hits retailers nationwide! Based on the
classic Super Dodgeball released on the NES®, Super
Dodgeball Brawlers revitalizes the furious competition of the old-school
dodgeball game while bringing a whole new arsenal to dominate the playground.
"Super
Dodgeball Brawlers is a really great mix of classic Kunio series beat 'em up
and dodgeball all rolled into one", states Bo deWindt, Project Lead, Aksys
Games. "Long time fans and newcomers alike should be very pleased with
this latest incarnation." It sounds like a pretty cool concept. I never played the original, but I think I might be able to get into this. I'll go check out the original on my PSP in a little while and let you know what I think. For a complete list of features and the rest of the email, click the more link below. |

Monster Hunter Portable 2 G sells over 2 Million! English Patch almost finished.
It took only 29 days for Monster Hunter Portable 2 G to sell over 2 million copies in Japan. This is pretty big news, but when are they going to anounce the English release of the game? It looks as though they may not have to. A small, dedicated group of individuals are hard at work translating all of the game's text to English. What's bigger than that is that these guys managed to somehow bypass the bit limits of Japanese Kanji. What this means is that we'll have a much more "finished" looking product when they finally release this much anticipated patch. You can find out more at Skies of Crimson.

Unofficial PSP CWF 3.93 M33 Available for those who want it
Yep! The beloved Dark_Alex's custom firmware has been updated by someone other than DAX. It's a decent mod, but it's only something the hardest of the hardcore internet radiofiles needs. For a full explanation from the coder himself, click on the more button.
I'm going to have to referr you to QJ.net for the download so, here you go! PSPUpdates

Delivering on a promise
As I mentioned before, we're trying to bring you regular updates more frequently than in the past few months and I want to again thank all of the faithful who have stuck by us during the rough times. In case you missed them, we've got new reviews for Warhammer 40k (PSP), Jeanne D'Arc (PSP), and Contra 4 (DS). I realise that these have all been out for some time, but they're all worth a look so check them out.

The long break is finally over.
If you're a long-time reader of the site, you may know what's been going on as of late, but for those of you just thinking the site has died, let me fill you in. Many of the original members of the staff have moved on to more important things. Most of them have just been bogged down by college and work.
I too, was bogged down by work for some time, but more importantly, I've been playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Shame on me! Consider this a full on apology on my part. I've got a few things in the pipeline - Patapon, PuchiPuchiVirus, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, Jeanne de' Arc, Warhammer 40,000, and a few others come to mind.
As you can see, I'm going to need some help from people out there. I guess I'm looking for a new staff, preferably one that can get along with one another. I mostly need a DS guy as there are so many games to be reviewed for the system. I can also use someone well-versed in website design as well as someone with experience making banners and such.
The job doesn't "pay" but does have some perks such as free games from time to time (especially for DS) and a portablereview email account. Anyone interested, send me a sample review to Bloodspoor@portablereview.com.
Thanks to Everyone for your continued support! |
